In 2006 I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. When someone has cancer it touches all areas of their life, not just their health. After my surgery and initial chemotherapy treatments, it was obvious I would not be able to continue working. My husband has since told me, that was the day he knew we would again someday need to move. During the past almost 6 years, I have constantly been in treatment of some sort...driving 120 miles round trip to my oncologist, sometimes, several times a week.
In the Summer of 2011, my husband informed me that he was considering moving into a Mobile Home in a gated 55+ community. I thought someone had stolen my husband of 40 years....this had NEVER been mentioned before. I cried, fought, begged, and many other things....but....
In November of 2011 the Lord answered our prayer and gave us a miracle.
We purchased a 1978 Doublewide Mobile home on a corner lot. It is right across the street from the community center, pool and the gym. These were just some of my desires...to try to find some good in this move.
The home had no remodels. It was clean. It is old. Everything. Furniture was still in the home and the weekend after we closed, the community had a garage sale and we sold most of the contents...
Ok, now the real work can begin!!
I hope you will follow along with our adventure. It should be interesting!!
